Digital Kitchen’s relationship with Cosmopolitan Hotel began with its award-winning lobby experience. For our next assignment, we were challenged to help make the exterior as engaging as the interior. We took an outside-in approach, looking anywhere and everywhere for opportunities to engage visitors. From the digital crown atop the building to the marquee, every space, however remote, seemingly inconsequential, public, private or unusual, was considered an integral part of The Cosmopolitan story.
Atop the Cosmopolitan Hotel is a massive custom display—a beacon for the curious class. We designed our content to entice revelers on the strip with hints of what's inside. Our eyes atop the Beacon are incarnations of the spirit of the hotel—curious gazes through dreamlike hazes, looking down the strip and towards the horizon.
Walking into The Cosmopolitan is a transition to a curious new world, and our Portal was meant to amplify this feeling. "Strands of Time", created through time-warping footage captured from around the building, reflect the rhythms of the surrounding strip at different temporal resolutions.
Signage is nothing new for Vegas, so we needed to create a more engaging experience for visitors to breakthrough the noise. The second story of the building acts as the voice of the hotel. Using a mixture of interactive games and off beat humor to speak directly with guests as they pass by. We developed a brand guide and content management system so the hotel could easily update and mix engaging content with more straightforward events and advertising.
